San Diego Musical Theatre presents our third installment of our Stars Under the Stars Concert Series: RISING STARS! ⭐️ Catch San Diego’s best and brightest up-and-coming talent performing songs that make them grateful this Thanksgiving week. All proceeds from RISING STARS will go towards SDMT Academy courses and our Pre-Professional productions to continue providing safe opportunities for San Diego youth artists to grow and perform in 2021. She has been involved in many youth shows throughout San Diego, Including San Diego Junior Theatre, CYT, Off Broadway Theater Company, and SDMT Pre-Professional Program. Kiara appeared in 2 professional shows with SDMT, Hairspray and Crazy for You. She was also cast in the world premiere show, 33 1/3 House of Dreams, at San Diego Repertory Theatre where she played Ronnie Spector. Kiara enjoys hanging with her friends and going to the beach. She looks forward to her next adventure in college!

JP was last seen as Ralphie in SDMT’s A Christmas Story. He also played Fletcher in SDMT’s pre-professional production of Freaky Friday. Other regional roles include Nigel in Moonlight Stage Production’s Matilda and a Who family member for three productions of the Globe’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. His love of theater began in Christian Youth Theater where some of his favorite roles included Michael in Mary Poppins and Jetsom in The Little Mermaid.

She is currently attending Grossmont College studying musical theatre and was born and raised in Chicago. Recent credits include: Man of La Mancha (SDMT), All Shook Up (SDMT), I Too Sing America and 1968: Revolution Remastered (Goodman Theatre), Chicago (Velma), and Fiddler on the Roof (Shprintze). Since his participation in the ensemble of SDMT’s 2016 production of ‘Ragtime’, Imahni has been building his resume around San Diego with theatrical groups such as The Roustabouts, Carlsbad Play Readers, Moxie Theatre, The Old Globe and Intrepid Theatre Company. Due to the pandemic, Imahni is especially grateful for this opportunity to perform once again and hopes to bring joy to everyone’s hearts this season!

He is so excited to be back on stage performing and especially at SDMT. CJ has been performing for the last 8 years in many youth theatre shows. Some of his favorites: Javert in Les Misérables, Quasimodo in Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jack Kelly in Newsies, Her Sonnenstitch in Spring Awakening and Angus Tuck in Tuck Everlasting. He is currently preparing for his upcoming auditions to many BFA Musical Theatre Programs. Special thanks to Jill and the SDMT Team for the honor of performing in the Rising Stars Event. Claire is a junior at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace where she is a student ambassador and plays lacrosse. Other favorite theater credits: Teen Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (The Old Globe), Young Louise in Gypsy (Cygnet), Newsies and The Little Mermaid (Moonlight Stage Productions), Annie in Annie (CYC), Dorothy in Wizard of Oz (CYT), and Young Cosette in Les Miserables (CCT). His last appearance on stage was with SDMT earlier this year, where he portrayed The Busboy in She loves me. Now, as his theatre withdrawals overtake him, he finds himself in two socially distanced musical productions: Be More Chill with OBTC, and All Shook Up with Ovation Theatre. He is very thankful for SDMT and their dedication to creating safe, live entertainment! Enjoy!

Chase began performing musical theatre his freshman year of high school and has been in love with it ever since. Some of Chase’s favorite theatre credits include: Tom Collins in RENT, Beast in Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Adam in The Mad Ones, Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Sebastian in The Little Mermaid. Chase is a sophomore attending San Diego State University where he is double majoring in Musical Theatre Performance and Music Performance. Chase is a member of the SDSU Chamber Choir and also a principal vocalist of the SDSU Opera Theatre program. Chase would like to thank his family, friends, teachers, and anyone who has helped him along his time in music, theatre, and the arts. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Favorite credits include: Judy Haynes in White Christmas (SDMT), Auntie Who in How The Grinch Stole Christmas and the world premiere of Allegiance (Old Globe), Winnie Tate in Annie Get Your Gun and Patty Simcox in Grease (Sacramento Music Circus), Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Eileen in the west coast premiere of I Love A Piano (Musical Theatre West), Laurey in Oklahoma (Welk Resort), Columbia in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Universal Studios LA) and touring the country in National Tours of A Chorus Line and Camelot. But her greatest role to date is as mother to Chase… SDMT’s Director of Morale!

He was born in Liverpool, England and moved to San Diego in 2007. His professional theatre credits include Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Starlight Express, The Buddy Holly Story, Man Of La Mancha, Evita, Godspell, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Full Monty, My Fair Lady, Fiddler On the Roof, Cats, Billy Elliot, Joseph and a world premiere production of Oz an American Fairy Tale, to name a few. Neil’s directorial credits include an award-winning production of Miss Saigon, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Sweet Charity, The King And I, Crazy For You, Billy Elliot, The Full Monty and most recently SDMT’s production of Miracle on 34th Street. For the past three years Neil has loved being part of one of the fastest growing nonprofit theatre companies in San Diego, San Diego Music Theatre. San Diego has been his home now for over 13 years and he feels very blessed be part of such a vibrant and inclusive theatre community.
