Now accepting entries for the RAISE YOUR VOICE 2020 Playwright Competition! SDMT is honored to partner with SDMT alumna Nicole Pryor Dernersesian and Inclusion Media Group for the RAISE YOUR VOICE 2020 Playwright Competition!
The RAISE YOUR VOICE Playwright Competition was established to amplify diverse voices in the theatre community. SDMT is proud to join 6 participating Southern California theatres in this playwright competition to bring diverse stories to the forefront of theatre. Each participating theatre will choose one winning original play or musical to receive a cash award and a reading featuring a diverse production team and cast. Participating theatres will also consider the winning works for benefit performances or placement in a future season.
Requirements for entry:
1) Theme: Plays and musicals may (a) tell a story that centers around BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ people and (b) feature characters of color.
2) All submissions are due AUGUST 7, 2020.
